10:10 is an innovative movement of people, schools, businesses and organisations cutting their carbon by 10% in a year. Everyone’s at it, from big names like Tottenham Hotspur, Sony and Microsoft to 45% of the UK’s councils. Signing up makes your business part of the solution to climate change. The aim is to reduce emissions by 10% in one year – or as close as you can get. By getting your carbon under control you’ll be cutting costs, staying ahead of the curve and helping Britain show the rest of the world how it’s done. 10:10 is about coming together to build a better future for all of us.
Albert is a free online tool to calculate a TV production’s carbon footprint. Created by the BBC and adopted by BAFTA, it is supported by the biggest broadcasters and production houses in the UK.
Albert has two major aims: to help programme teams reduce the amount of CO2 produced during the making of their programmes, and to raise awareness of the environmental impact of programme-making. The intention is for the toolkit to become a focal point for sustainability issues in the television industry for both colleagues and audiences.
Arcola Energy is a multi-disciplinary developer, manufacturer and retailer of fuel cell-based low carbon energy solutions, operating across a wide range of markets including the entertainment sector. Its main product is low energy lighting hydrogen power for events. Arcola Energy grew as a project of Arcola Theatre, becoming a separate company in 2011.

British Standards Institution
The British Standards Institution (BSI) is an independent agency that sets standards for a wide range of manufacturing and service industries in the UK and around the world. Working with the UK Film Council and a range of film industry trade bodies, the BSI has drafted BS8909 – a Standard “for the sustainable management of the UK film industry”. This new Standard is about to be tested across a number of companies in production, distribution, exhibition, facilities, sales and archive, with the intention of formally launching it early in 2011
